Yarn Love Hand Stamped Aluminum Cuff Bracelet
This listing is for one hand stamped aluminum cuff stacking bracelets. The dimensions of the bracelet flat are 152mm (6") x 9.5mm (.38"). Inside diameter is approximately 2 1/4 of an inch when bent into cuff shape. I have a wrist that measures 6 1/2" inches and this cuff fits perfectly on me.
How To Care For Your Hand Stamped Aluminum Piece
Aluminum is a lightweight metal that will not rust or turn your skin green. But that doesn’t mean that the aluminum wont require care to stay shiny and bright. The natural oils from your skin can tarnish or oxidize the metal. Aluminium is also soft and can easily scratch so I do not recommend using an abrasive cleaner or scouring pads which will only further scratch the metal. One of the best things you can use is a pro polishing pad which utilizes a non-scratch micro-abrasive technology to return the shine and luster to your metal piece. You can easily find these types of polishing pads online. Be aware that the darkened stamped areas can fade over time with continued use or if your jewelry is worn while swimming, washing, etc.
How to Adjust Your Bracelet:
Many cuff bracelets are adjustable thanks to the soft properties of the metal. And in general you can open or close your bracelet about a 1/4 inch larger or smaller. However, please do not put the aluminum bracelet on your wrist and then try to adjust it by squeeze it. When you do this it puts a lot of stress of the center of the cuff which can eventually weaken it. You should also be very careful when you adjust it so that you don't end up making it an odd shape or damaging it. You should bend the bracelet while it is off your wrist by encircling your hand firmly over one end and then gently bend this portion of the bracelet. You can then repeat this on the other side.
Here is a list of all of the yarn bases that are carried and their fiber content. Please keep in mind that color distribution and saturation will vary greatly from base to base and from what is depicted in each listing.
I do a lot research to make sure that all of the bases that I carry are ethically sourced from reputable, cruelty-free, mulesing-free farms and mills from around the world. My yarns are dyed using professional acid dyes in smoke-free environment in a dedicated space that I affectionately call my dye lab. And I also wash all of my yarns after dyeing them with a lavender wool wash. However, while my dye studio is pet free, I do have 4 cats and cat hair a mysterious thing and seems to find its way into all places.
Currently I am working on the discontinuation of a lot of yarn bases and I will also be bringing in a few new ones.
Recommended Wash Instructions For All Yarns: Gently hand wash in cold water and dry flat. Some colors may also bleed the first time the yarn is washed. Please keep in mind that non-superwash treated wools tend to bleed colors more than superwash treated wool.
Additional information as of July 2020: Because of Covid-19, supplies of milled yarn is limited as some mills have had to close or are running at half capacity at this particular time. This is not necessarily a bad thing as it ensures the safety of their employees and the product that they in turn are sending to us. This is why all new colors are this point will be preorders. If you are looking for a specific quantity on a specific base for that special project please do not hesitate to contact me for a custom order.
Aurora: (limited edition at this time due to supply chain disruptions) This a 4 ply fingering base yarn that consist of 70% Superwash Merino Wool and 30% Nylon. This super wash merino wool has a subtle softness and warmth while the extra nylon content gives this yarn some added strength. This really reminds me of a hearty wooly touch and feel of a non superwash yarn but has the benefits of the being superwash treated. The wooly natural feel of this yarn base also makes it ideal for more structured knit or crochet items. I am noticing that colors dyed on this base even though it is SW treated still tend to bleed the first few times it is washed. Comes in skeins of 437 yards/ 100 grams.
Charm Fingering Weight: (limited edition at this time due to supply chain disruptions) This is a 4 ply fingering weight yarn that is a 85/15 blend of Extra Fine Superwash Merino/ Nylon and comes in skeins of 437 yds/ 100 grams. t has taken me several months to find, but this is the closest yarn base I have to my Snug base as far as feel and texture. My Snug base has been hard to acquire this past year due to yarn base shortages at this time.
Eclipse Fingering: is a 2-ply fingering weight yarn that is 100% Peruvian Highland Wool. Yarn comes in skeins of 437 yds/ 100 grams.
