Pandia's Jewels is a family-owned and operated small business right here in Hyde Park, NY. Since I opened my business in 2011, everything I have created or dyed has been done with my own personal touch and I've treated every customer like they were a part of my family.
I have been crafting ever since my Mom taught me to crochet over 20 years ago. In college I decided to branch out my crafting skills and work on an art degree which consisted of drawing, painting, ceramics, jewelry design, and Art History.
Over the years I have made lots of one of a kind crochet items for my friends and family. Pandia's Jewels was created so that more people could take part in the experience of creating and spreading the same joy that comes from crafting.
In 2009 I earned my BA in Historical Studies and I am currently working on my M.Ed in Secondary Education.
About the Name....
Pandia in Greek Mythology was the embodiment of brightness and the Goddess of the full moon. While each of my creations starts from a spark of light I also consider each one of them to be a jewel of their own.
While I love self-publishing my own crochet patterns, you can currently find some of my designs on the Knit Picks Website.
Additionally, I am working with Cooperative Press in designing some pieces for their Fresh Crochet Designs series that is scheduled to be published sometime in 2012.
